Eye Allergy - Conjunctivitis via weather change

We have heard about skin infection, urine infection, stomach infection, etc. Now a day’s people complaining about eye infection too. It’s not eye flue. It is different from the eye flue.

This happens due to climate change. When, we get exposed to severe weather change. Like in summers if we go to any place which is very hot and we are in contact of direct sunlight.

Similarly this may happen in a cold weather, if you go to very cold place like highlands, where you come in direct contact with sun. It causes due to ultraviolet rays which are high and direct in the region.

In other countries like UK and US this disease is called hay fever. It occurs when weather changes there from winter to summer.

This allergy is commonly known as conjunctivitis. Histamines are released to the area of contact, which causes symptoms such as red, itchy, or watery eyes. Allergic conjunctivitis may happen at any time of year, but is especially common during the spring, summer, and fall when trees, grasses, and ragweed are in bloom. An eye allergy is also known as pink eye.

People with allergic conjunctivitis also commonly report symptoms of other allergic conditions, including:

-hay fever (itchy nose, sneezing, watery nasal discharge)
-eczema (red, itchy, scaly skin)

The allergy caused by lenses or viral is different than this.

Airborne particles, called allergens, are a substance, such as pollen, that causes an allergic reaction. An allergic reaction is the body's way of fighting the allergens by releasing histamine and other substances.

It is noted that allergies are passed from parents. Approximately half the U.S. population experience allergy symptoms, and a majority of them affect the eyes.

We can see that most of the time eye allergies are caused by either seasonal or environmental exposure to allergens, but you can experience symptoms from both conditions. Seasonal airborne allergens are commonly pollen, mold, ragweed, dust, and they usually affect people who also experience nasal allergy symptoms. Environmental contributors could be dust, smoke, certain foods, pet, perfumes or cosmetics.

Currently I am suffering from conjunctivitis infection. So i thought to write for you guys. My eyes and skin are sensitive so the infection hits me very easily :)

Symptoms of conjunctivitis:-
  1. Itching or burning in eyes
  2. Watery eyes
  3. Pain in eyes
  4. Swollen or "puffy" eyelids (especially in the morning)
  5. Red or pink eyes
  6. Scaling around the eyes (rarely)
  7. Nasal congestion or cold
Please don't trust/depend completely on home remedies and wait for the eyes to get cured itself.
Immediately consult a doctor and take antibiotics.

Some of our home remedies to help in curing the eyes along with medical advise are:
  1. Take cold milk, dab the cotton into it and rub the eyes with cotton.
  2. Put two or three rose water drops in the eyes.
  3. Take green tea bag and hot water. Put the green tea bag into hot distilled water. Then cool down the water and wash the eyes with it.
  4. Water and salt- Add one spoon salt to boiling distilled water. Boil it till salt is dissolved. Cool it and wash your eyes with it.
  5. Put chilled cucumber slices on your eyelids.
As it is said eyes are the windows of your soul. So, take care of your eyes, and let others peep into them :)
